New Song: Lord Jesus Comfort Me (A Communion Hymn)

New Song: Lord Jesus Comfort Me (A Communion Hymn)

This past Sunday night we introduced a re-tuned hymn by Matthew Smith titled “Lord Jesus Comfort Me (A Communion Hymn.” This brief but potent song reflects on the agony of Christ as he suffered for our sin in our place. The relief from sin and guilt and shame comes from the one who bore it all on the cross. So as we wrestle and war we look to Jesus for comfort and deliverance. We encourage you to learn this song as we integrate it into our corporate worship so we might all participate together in remembering the cross through song. Lord Jesus Comfort Me (A Communion Hymn) 1. You have canceled my transgression, Jesus, by Your precious blood May I find therein salvation, happiness, and peace with God And since You for sinner’s suffering On the cross was made an offering From all sin deliver me, That I wholly Yours may be 2.
