Ministry Needs

There are several opportunities to serve at Countryside. Ministry needs are communicated regularly through Cside News and posted to this page.

Some ministry opportunities are limited to Countryside members in good standing, while others are available to children of members or regular attenders. Any requirements to serve in these ministries are listed below. If you have any questions, please contact the church office.

All who love young children are invited to serve on the Cside Nursery Team. Many of our current nursery volunteers roll on and off the schedule due to pregnancy, new babies, or nursing. Because of this, and a growing number of children, we often have a shortage of volunteers.

Current Need: We need nursery volunteers for ages infant to three to serve during the 9:00 AM, 10:45 AM, or evening service. Volunteers are scheduled once a month with an occasional extra week thrown in when we have a 5th Sunday.

Requirements: Must be a child of a member, or a member if 18+. Men can serve with their wives or single men will serve with two women.

The College & Career Ministry is a community of young adults committed to making disciples and growing in Christlikeness together. College and Career Group meets regularly for game nights, service projects, worship nights, book studies, volleyball, impromptu lunches, holiday parties, conferences, and other mutually upbuilding activities.

Current Needs:

  1. Young adults willing to help teardown and setup chairs for Tuesday Night Volleyball each week. Teardown takes place from 5:15-6:00 PM and setup is from 8:00-8:40 PM.
  2. Bible Study leaders willing to facilitate a small group (4-6) of other C&C members studying Scripture together.
  3. Young adult men willing to study and give a challenge to their peers at group gatherings (on occasion).

Requirements: Anyone can help with chair setup or teardown. Bible Study leaders and men interested in teaching need to be members in good standing.

The Countryside Men's Ministry connects and equips men striving to glorify God with lives characterized by spiritual maturity, biblical discernment and faithful stewardship. Countryside men have access to Bible studies, practical teaching, and outreach events where they can deepen their faith and discover new ways to apply biblical principles to their daily lives.

Current Needs:

  1. Men with tools & construction skills to help build competition stations for the Men's Steakout (axe throwing lanes, archery target courses, etc...)
  2. Men with musical skills willing to lead music at men's events (like Man 2 Man)
  3. Men willing to serve as disciplers/mentors for others who need to grow in their faith alongside faithful brothers.
  4. Men willing to labor as part of the workday crews at our quarterly Saturday workdays.

Requirements: Non-members may serve in constructing sets for Steakout and on Workdays. Members may serve as song leaders and disciplers.

Countryside has been partnering with Mission Southside to connect with, minister to, and share the love of Christ with those in our community. This Neighborhood Team consists primarily of Countryside attenders, but we also may work alongside other like-minded individuals who are seeking to share the gospel in this community. Our primary goal is to share the gospel through building relationships and meeting practical needs. This is achieved through consistent and intentional investments in the lives of our neighbors.

Current Needs:

  1. Serve in the Food Co-op on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month.
  2. Lead a small group of children (ages 3 to 18) in weekly Bible study on Thursdays (6-8 pm).
  3. Provide transportation for those in need to work or medical appointments.
  4. Participate in various other neighborhood events including Homework Huddle, Language Classes, Sports Night, Day Camp, and Career and College Night.
  5. Organize special events throughout the year including Easter, end of school, 4th of July, and beginning of school.

Requirements: You do not need to be a Countryside member to participate in the Neighborhood Team, but you will need reliable transportation to and from events.

Power Pack is a kids’ club for first through third graders that meets on Sunday evenings. It is based on the truth of Romans 1:16 and an original kids’ club developed by Countryside.

Current Need: We are in need of male volunteers to wear a dog costume while greeting and passing out stickers to kids on Sundays from 5:40-6:05 PM, twice a month.

Requirements: Volunteers must be either a male Countryside member who has had a background check or be a regularly attending boy under the age of 18 with a recommendation from the youth pastor. For a comfortable costume fit, he should have a height of approximately 5’7”-5’10” and a slender to medium build.

The chair team’s responsibility is to ensure the precise setup of the auditorium chairs for Sunday morning service, and you will be provided with the layout and tools needed to accomplish this!

Current Need: We need volunteers to be help with chair setup approximately 1-2 times per month.

Requirements: You do not need to be a member to participate in a chair team.

This ministry includes assembling and presenting the text slides for worship songs, scriptures, and outline points during the sermons which are displayed on the auditorium screens.

Current Need: We need volunteers to prepare and present slides during the Sunday morning and evening services.

Requirements: Volunteers must be a Countryside member with a willingness to learn and troubleshoot if technology issues arise within the presentation software during the Sunday services.

The Children’s Hour Of Worship (CHOW) ministry helps children ages 3 to 5 understand the basics of who God is and our relationship to Him through Jesus. We do this by playing with the children, singing worship songs, and then discussing a story from “The Biggest Story” curriculum. Would you prayerfully consider being a blessing to these little ones and their parents?

Current Need: We need CHOW volunteers to serve during the 9:00 AM and 10:45 AM morning services. Volunteers are scheduled once a month with an occasional extra fifth Sunday. We need some volunteers to teach and others to assist the teachers with classroom control.

Requirements: Must be a child (12 and up) of a regular attender, or a regular attender if over 18. Must be a member to teach CHOW.

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
