Women's Ministries

As a discipling arm of the church, the Countryside Women’s Ministries seeks to intentionally address the unique spiritual needs of women in the church to help build spiritual maturity.
The Countryside Women’s Ministries views each lady as a special individual who is personally loved by God. It is not the goal of the Countryside Women’s Ministries to get every woman to participate in every women’s activity or event but rather to serve and encourage every woman in the church. The following goals reflect the heart of the Countryside Women’s Ministries:

    • Assist in the spiritual maturity of the women at Countryside.
    • Equip the women at Countryside to effectively model and mentor the biblical principles of Christ-centered womanhood.
    • Help strengthen women at Countryside in their love for, and service to, the body of Christ.
    • Facilitate the women at Countryside in the building of meaningful friendships with other women in the church.

Becoming Women of the Word

Women’s Bible Study

It’s important for women to know Scripture because it forms the foundation for our lives. Countryside seeks to offer a variety of rich, edifying studies that will benefit women of all ages and stages of life.

Our summer study of 2024 is Aging With Grace by Sharon W. Betters and Susan Hunt. All women are welcome to join us at church on these four Thursdays at 7pm: June 20, June 27, July 18, and July 25 to discuss, learn, and grow together around the Word of God.

Shower Ministry

The Countryside shower ministry provides an opportunity to show love and care to ladies expecting their first child or entering into their first marriage. Showers consist of fellowship, a devotional, and light snacks. While gifts are not opened at the showers, gift giving is encouraged as a way to show love for these ladies. Combined baby showers and wedding showers are each held quarterly.

A Heart that Fears the Lord

Encouraged Hearts

Countryside hosts quarterly fellowships for women which we call “Encouraged Hearts.” At these gatherings, women ages 16 and older come together to learn and share through a variety of formats that may include testimonies, teaching, singing, small groups, prayer, or panel discussions — all focused on the Word of God. It’s a wonderful way to get to know other women in all seasons of life and look for opportunities to encourage and build relationships.

We are currently exploring the riches of Scripture under the theme “A Heart that Fears the Lord.” We hope you’ll join us during our upcoming gatherings as we focus on Psalm 86:11: “Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.”

Women of the Word

Ladies’ Sunday School

We offer a Bible study on Sunday mornings for ladies to grow together in our knowledge of God’s Word. This class meets at 10:45am in Rooms 11-12 and is designed to engage women in discussion and Bible study.

Widows’ Fellowship

God cares deeply for widows and provides for them through His Word, His Spirit, and His church. The Countryside Widows’ Fellowship is a ministry that began in 2021 to help widows learn to use their widowhood for the glory of God. This is a group of women growing together under the sufficient hope and instruction given by God in Scripture.

This group is studying “The Undistracted Widow: Living for God after Losing Your Husband” by Carol Cornish. This resource addresses biblical responses widows must learn. It covers topics like what it means to trust God, how to gain comfort, how to face fears, overcoming loneliness, and many more helpful truths.

The Widows’ Fellowship meets on the third Wednesday of every month from 1:00 to 2:30 PM. After enjoying a short time of fellowship and snacks, they discuss the homework from each month’s assigned chapter.

Practical Help for Life’s Challenges

Biblical Counseling

Scripture is “breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). At Countryside, we believe the Bible is the foundation of life and has all the answers we need. Yet, there are times when it can be difficult to understand what the Bible says about something we are facing.

To help move past these challenges, our pastors and certified Biblical counselors in our body provide free Biblical counseling services to those who attend Countryside. Contact us if you would like help in this area.

Once a year, the women of Countryside and invited guests come together for a time of learning and talking. The evening is filled with a delightful blend of engaging workshops, speakers, and interactive activities. From insightful discussions to creative expression through art, Flourish provides a sanctuary for women to connect, learn, and thrive.

Teacher Training

Countryside leadership is committed to developing women leaders who can teach other women from Scripture. Hand selected by Countryside pastors, these ladies are equipped to teach the ladies’ Sunday School class, develop Bible study curriculum for ladies’ Bible studies, and speak at women’s events. Teacher training involves an intensive Bible interpretation program as well as communication development in speaking and writing.

We are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
